I have play rehearsal every...single...day this...
This is not what I signed up for. It’s like I have nothing better to do. At this point, cello is just going down the drain, sitting on the back burner because my time is over-booked.

The new recording of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet...
Is probably the cleanest recording I’ve ever heard of the London Symphony. And if you watch a video of Gergiev conducting a fast movement (from Romeo and Juliet), it makes me think that he should make an exercise video. Gergiev is very aerobic because he doesn’t use a baton most of the time, so instead of wrist/forearm, it’s his whole arm/body. It’s kinda like ROPES GONE...

I don't understand.
I just bought the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev’s new recording of: Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, and all 52 tracks downloaded perfectly, except for one.  This one track is just taking its sweet time.  It’s only 6.8 MB, and should be downloaded in 30 seconds or less, not 45 minutes.

I've got some exciting news that you won't care...
I found a copy (that I really like) of Sir John Tavener’s Song for Athene on iTunes, which he wrote for Princess Diana’s funeral. And I found Eric Whitacre’s Animal Crackers, which I have been looking for for a long time, and it turns out that Brigham Young just released a whole Whitacre album last month. Pretty sweet.

Supreme Court Rejects Campaign Spending Limits →
soupsoup: The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations may spend freely to support or oppose candidates for president and Congress, easing decades-old limits on their participation in federal campaigns. The court on Thursday overturned a 20-year-old ruling that said corporations can be prohibited from using money from their general treasuries to pay for campaign ads. The decision almost...

ragbag: Some time ago a Chicago banking house asked a Boston investment firm for a letter of recommendation about a young Bostonian they were thinking of employing. The Boston firm replied by outlining in enthusiastic detail the young man’s excellent First Family background. Several days later came a curt acknowledgment from Chicago. Unfortunately the material supplied was not exactly what they...

What's kinda funny...
The College of Saint Rose, in Albany, just opened a new communications/technology building, and they’re all like, “Yeah, this is state of the art, and we spent $6,000,000 on it, and it’s just fabulous.” However, I disagree with the architecture.  I think that it could have been designed more fittingly on the interior with its modern exterior.  The inside’s a little...
